As a global network of member organizations, our Executive Committee is comprised of organizations, rather than individuals as such. With only one or two exceptions, it is the organizations that choose the individuals representing them. We do not interfere in their selection processes, with the result that the gender composition of the Executive has varied over the past few years from 50 percent women to today’s 66 percent.
Nonetheless, the composition of the Executive Committee is structured in such a way that we ensure geographic diversity and representation of the populations we seek to serve. We have seats designated for Latin America, Francophone Africa, Anglophone Africa and Asia; and all such regions are represented at present. We also have open seats that can be filled at will by the Executive.
All members of the Executive Committee are posted on the RHSC website; as are our Terms of Reference which, on page 9, stipulate the organizational composition of the RHSC.
