Zahrah is a gender equality and social inclusion expert with experience designing, implementing, and evaluating projects for women, girls, and marginalised groups that inform policies and strategies. She specialises in women’s and girls’ economic rights and empowerment, social norms, the care economy, social protection and labour market policies, and qualitative research methodologies. With experience spanning diverse contexts globally, including Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America, Zahrah has held positions at organisations such as UNICEF, the World Bank Group, and the Institute of Development Studies. She has also collaborated with organisations including the Commonwealth Secretariat, Cities Alliance, FAO, IFPRI, OECD, and WFP to lead research and translate complex findings into practical solutions. Zahrah holds a PhD in Human Geography and Urban Studies and an MSc in Urbanisation and Development, both from the London School of Economics.
