We’re hiring – Communications intern

Duration: 6 months, starting as soon as possible, part-time (40% time)

Report to Communications and advocacy manager

Hybrid working environment

Salary: £97.50 per day

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated social media intern to support a range of online content delivery and event support. This position is ideal for anyone who has a passion for gender equality to gain experience in communicating research, social media, and event support.

Towards gender equality in global health 

Global Health 50/50 is a world-leading independent, evidence-driven initiative to advance action and accountability for gender equality in global health. The initiative brings together leading feminists, doctors, academics, policy and political experts from all corners of the world to catalyse change for gender equality. We are the home of the world’s most comprehensive database and report on the state of gender equality in global health, as well as the leading global tracker on sex, gender and COVID-19.

About the role

You’ll be working with the Communications and Advocacy manager to deliver engaging content, support the launch of various research outputs, and assist with communicating to our report organisations.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Maintaining social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram), including designing and posting content and accompanying graphics and engagement with other stakeholders on social media.
  • Support short campaigns on three current research projects, including the 2023 annual Global Health 50/50 report.
  • Assist with updating the GH5050 impact tracker and providing monthly reports across all our digital platforms.
  • Assist with communications with our external stakeholders, partners, policy makers, and organisations engaged in the annual GH5050 Report.
  • Assist with content creation for the GH5050 website and social media platforms.
  • Support online and in-person launch events for research outputs.
