Kent is an intersectional feminist who loves to cook. He is also a political economist with expertise in health policy analysis. As an academic activist he believes in the democratization of opportunity and seeks to contribute to the development of a new social contract based on justice, fairness and rights. Kent has published widely on rights, gender, equity, inclusion and accountability in global health – applying these lenses to urgent global health concerns including governance, development cooperation, AIDS and sexual health and rights, and NCDs. He is Director of newly established global Healthier Societies Research Program at the George Institute for Global Health, with an appointment at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
