Helen Clark and Sania Nishtar: ‘Bringing gender equality to global health’

Writing in Project Syndicate, international leaders and GH5050 Advisors Helen Clark and Sania Nishtar raise the alarm that far too many efforts to fulfill global development commitments lack the meaningful reporting mechanisms needed to succeed. They point to Global Health 50/50’s inaugural report as one such critical accountability tool, and the high degree of gender inequality it has revealed in the health sector. Clark and Nishtar call on global health organisations to adopt concrete measures to address the shortcomings identified in the report, while urging Global Health 50/50 to make increasingly clear which organisations are still falling behind.
