Helen Clark Comment on GH5050 in the Lancet

“Radical changes in gender norms are possible”: Helen Clark on GH5050

In a Comment for the Lancet, Helen Clark shares her motivation for joining the Global Health 50/50 Advisory Council and reflects on some of the findings of its inaugural report. In it, she encourages global health leadership to share and discuss the report’s findings for their organisation with their staff associations, senior management teams, ethics committees, and boards. She further urges organisations to develop a plan of action for progress, both for their organisation’s workplace policies and for policies guiding their operations. The report, she contends, should provide much needed impetus for action to achieve health and wellbeing for all, irrespective of gender.

Helen Clark is the former Prime Minister of New Zealand and former Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme.
